Overview & History
Department of Medicine started functioning in Government Medical College Thrissur from 1983.Initially the department was functioning in the building of the District Hospital ,in the heart of the city.Later it was shifted to Mulamgunnathukavu, Chest Hospital.At present it is functioning in the new building built for the medical college in Mulamgunnathukavu. MD General Medicine course was started in the year 2004 with 4 candidates and presently there is an annual intake of 14 candidates.
